Empowering Educators for Impact!

Across the vibrant communities of Ada’a and Gumbichu, a transformational shift in local education took root as Ratson successfully wrapped up a series of intensive Structured Accelerated Learning Program (SALP) teacher training workshops.

Designed to reshape classroom dynamics from the ground up, the initiative brought together 85 dedicated educators and local leaders—including 32 inspiring women united by a shared mission to nurture young minds through safe, engaging, and protective learning environments.The journey unfolded across two distinct sites, starting at Tokkuma Primary School in Ada’a district from August 31 to September 4, 2026, and continuing at Chefedonsa Primary School in Gumbichu district from September 3 to September 7, 2026.

Over five consecutive days of immersive learning at each location, participants worked through the newly compiled SALP Playbook. The sessions went far beyond traditional pedagogy, equipping teachers with practical, interactive methods to make learning truly joyful while embedding critical child safeguarding principles into every daily routine.

The strategic importance of the effort was echoed by key government stakeholders who joined the sessions. Ato Teshome, Head of Adult and Non-Formal Education (ANFE) at the Oromia Education Bureau, addressed the gathering to emphasize that SALP is a flagship government initiative. He urged all participants to embrace the program with maximum dedication, reminding everyone that building a resilient education system requires active ownership at every level.

As the training concluded, these 85 educators returned to their classrooms not just with new manuals, but with renewed purpose ready to foster brighter, safer, and more inspiring learning spaces for children across both districts.
